Social Events

All congress participants are cordially invited to take part in our social events.  You can select which events you wish to attend when you register for the congress (using the on-line registration form).

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will take place on Sunday 5 July 2009 at 17.45 hours. The ceremony will be followed by a welcome cocktail reception.  This event is free of charge to all congress participants. More details about the opening ceremony will follow at a later date.  You may reserve your ticket now via the on-line registration form.

Congress Dinner

The congress dinner is open to all participants of the congress.  It will take place on Tuesday 7 July 2009 from 20.00 – 23.00 hours. An exciting evening “à la Parisien” is planned in the most romantic city in the world.  You will enjoy spectacular views and first class entertainment while having the chance to meet and catch up with your colleagues from around the world!  Tickets are partially sponsored by the congress and are available at the price of 85 Euros each.  More details will follow concerning the activities and venue, however you can reserve your tickets now via the on-line registration form.

Tickets are limited and subject to availability.

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony will take place at the congress venue on Thursday 9 July 2009 at 10.30 hours.  More details will follow at a later date.

Accompanying Persons Programme

Accompanying persons badges are available at the price of 120 € each. Each participant may purchase a maximum of 3 accompanying persons badges. The accompanying persons receive the following items:

- 1 name badge (permitting access to Welcome Area zone only)
- Access to the opening and closing ceremonies
- 1 ticket to the welcome cocktail
- Access to the Paris sight seeing tour (upon presentation of name badge), arranged especially for the accompanying persons of the congress

Accompanying persons may also choose to participate in the tours programme (available at an additional cost). Please see the information below for details.

Tours

Known worldwide as the City of Light (la Ville Lumière), Paris has been a major tourist destination for centuries. The city is renowned for the beauty of its architecture, its urban perspectives and avenues, as well as the wealth of its museums.

France Connection has created various excursions for congress attendees and guests wishing to explore the city and its surrounding region, Ile-de-France. All excursions will depart from Place de la Porte Maillot and attendees are asked to meet at the information desk on level 0 of Le Palais des Congrès de Paris at least fifteen minutes prior to their departure time. The excursions offered are:

- Paris walking tour
- Versailles & Giverny
- Day in Champagne
- Paris panoramic city tour
- Louvre Museum
- Orsay Museum
